What is the JamCut Editor?
The Editor is your all-in-one tool for cutting, syncing, and polishing live performances. It automatically aligns your footage, detects key highlights, and exports clips or full shows, all while you stay in the director’s chair by telling it what you want.

What makes it different from other editors?

Can I still control the edit?
Absolutely. You’re still the director. The Editor handles syncing and cutting, but you decide what moments to highlight and how the final video feels.
How fast is it?
Most edits process in minutes, not days. JamCut handles syncing, cutting, and highlight detection automatically, no timelines, no manual work.
Upload time depends on your file size and internet speed, but once your footage is in the portal, processing starts instantly. You’ll get notified when your cut is ready to preview or prompt.
For multi-camera sets, expect full sync and cut generation within a few minutes per song, far faster than traditional editing.
What file types are supported?
We support most standard file formats for audio and video:
- Video: MP4, MOV, AVI
- Audio: WAV, MP3, AAC
If you’re unsure, just upload your footage, and our system will flag any incompatible files automatically.
Can I edit or refine my clips after the Editor cut?
Yes, you’re always in control. Once your first cut is ready, you can re-prompt the Editor to tighten transitions, swap camera angles, or focus on different moments. JamCut learns from each prompt, so every round gets closer to your vision.
Does the Editor work with live audio straight from the board?
Absolutely. JamCut syncs soundboard audio, camera mics, and room tracks automatically. Even if your cameras started late or stopped mid-set, our waveform analysis lines everything up perfectly.
Can I export in different formats or aspect ratios?
Yes. You can export in vertical, square, or widescreen formats, ideal for Reels, Shorts, or full YouTube uploads. Just choose your format before exporting and JamCut handles the rest.
What if my cameras weren’t perfectly aligned or started late?
No problem. JamCut’s auto-sync engine matches audio peaks across every clip, even if they start or stop at different times. If it’s not perfect, you can nudge the frames manually to fully align.
Uploads and File Management
How do I upload my footage?
Everything happens inside the secure JamCut portal, no external links, no email attachments. Just drag and drop your footage and audio directly into your project space.
You can upload from your computer or phone. Once your files are in, the system automatically checks compatibility and either alerts our team or starts processing immediately through the Editor.
You’ll see upload progress in real time, get confirmation when it’s complete, and preview your footage as soon as it’s ready to sync and cut. Most musicians simply upload overnight and wake up ready to edit and post.
After 60 days, files are automatically deleted to protect your privacy. Need to keep your footage longer? Use our optional Freeze Storage Safe to archive it securely for as long as you need.
Do you support multi-camera footage?
Yes. We specialize in multi-camera syncs paired with soundboard audio. Whether you’re using one angle or five, we make it seamless.
Do I need special gear?
Nope. We work with:
- Smartphones
- GoPros and Zoom Q2n-4K style cameras
- DSLR and pro-level cameras
If it records video, JamCut can work with it.
What’s the recommended internet speed for uploads?
We recommend at least 25 Mbps upload speed for smooth transfers. Many artists upload overnight or while on Wi-Fi at venues or studios.
How big can my files be?
Each upload supports files up to 150 GB directly through the portal. For larger sessions, connect to Dropbox, which handles bulk transfers seamlessly.
Security and Access
How secure is my footage?
All uploads are protected with encrypted HTTPS channels, and every file stays locked inside your secure JamCut portal. Only you, your assigned editor, and project manager have access, no outside sharing or third-party visibility.
After 30 days, files are automatically deleted to protect your privacy. Need to keep your footage longer? Use our optional Freeze Storage Safe to archive it securely for as long as you need.
What is the JamCut Secure Portal?
It’s your central dashboard for everything. Uploading footage, tracking progress, leaving feedback, and accessing final cuts. The portal replaces email handoffs and gives you full transparency.
What happens if I accidentally delete a file?
Deleted files move to your portal trash for 7 days before permanent removal. Contact support within that window and we’ll help recover it.
Can I share access with my bandmates or manager?
Yes. You can invite collaborators with viewer or commenter access so everyone stays in the loop without compromising security.
Revisions, Billing & Subscriptions
What if I don’t like my edit?
You’re the director. If the first cut isn’t quite right, you can prompt the Editor again, adjust what you want to see, tighten transitions, or refocus your highlights.

Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time, and you’ll retain access until the end of your billing cycle.
Is there a free trial?

What’s included in a Long-Form Edit?

What are Short Clips?
Short Clips are up to 60 seconds long, ideal for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. You can note specific moments or let our editors pick the highlights.
Can I give editing notes?
Yes. Add your instructions in the upload portal. Tell us what solo to feature or what vibe to capture, and we’ll take it from there.
How long do Pro Services take?
Standard turnaround is 5–7 business days. Need it faster? Choose Rush Delivery for 24-hour turnaround (+$125).
What’s the difference between AI Editing and Pro Services?
AI Editing is fast, automated, and self-directed: you prompt, it cuts.
Pro Services uses our editing team for manual polishing, color correction, audio mastering, and longer storytelling cuts.
Both start in the same secure portal.
Can you combine multiple shows into one video?
Yes. Upload sets from different nights or venues and tag them by show. Our editors or AI can merge them into one cohesive video, perfect for highlight reels or tour recaps.
Do you offer color correction or audio mastering?
Yes, every Pro Service includes basic color and audio balancing. If you want deeper mastering or grading, our team offers those as add-ons.

A Long-Form Edit includes the following:

What is a “Short Clip”?
Short Clips are social media-ready highlights, up to 60 seconds in length. Perfect for Instagram Reels, TikTok, or YouTube Shorts. You can specify key moments, or let our editors choose the best parts.
Can I provide specific editing instructions?
Yes! After uploading your footage, you’ll have the opportunity to include notes or instructions for our editors. Want a specific solo highlighted or a certain vibe? Let us know, and we’ll make it happen.
How secure is my footage?
We take security seriously:
- All uploads are protected via encrypted channels (HTTPS).
- Files are stored securely and accessible only to your assigned editor and project manager.
- Uploaded files are automatically deleted 30 days after project completion unless you request otherwise.
What happens if I don’t like the final edit?
We offer one free round of revisions to ensure the final product meets your expectations. If you have additional changes, we’ll work with you to provide adjustments at a small additional cost.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Yes! You can cancel your subscription anytime. Your cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle, and you will retain access to the service until then.
Do I need a specific type of camera to use JamCut.io?
Not at all! Our platform supports footage from:
